Good point, however industrial-grade Access Points have batteries included - won't work in residential areas.
 
I'm sure some hackers will figure out a way to get free internet access through this
 
South Africa is way behind many countries in setting up public urban networks so they have a massive opportunity to build these features into the AP's before even rolling out.
 
In a large block of flats recently (Liesbeeck Gardens) on the ground floor. There were about 40 wifi networks transmitting and at least 10 were unencrypted. Two had over 80% signal. No hacking necessary
