Telkom to deliver free uncapped ADSL upgrades

Sorry for my ignorance, but how will the upgrades work? Is it a flick of a switch? :whistle:

Sorry if this has been explained somewhere else.
 
I was under the impression they would only start in September.
Can anyone confirm if their line has been upgraded?

Software switch upgrade.
They are starting joburg pretoria then northwest then the rest of us :wtf: i expect to get mine done 17 of next month +- :mad:
I am on 1 meg.

The 4Mbps to 10Mbps has always been part of the standard upgrade and not this new free upgrade.

Still looking for someone to confirm 1Mbps to 2Mbps upgrade.
 
What are the 06:00 to 18:00 speed restriction on Do Uncapped Basic running 1Mb/s?
 
At least Telkom are now trying to keep up with the other ISPs. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Afrihost and MWEB upgrade their 384 uncapped to 1 Mbps at no extra cost?

ADSL line speed is separate to ISP accounts speed. You need both on 2Mbps to download at 2Mbps.

Rather post your router's sync speed screenshot than a speedtest if you have been upgraded. This will confirm what your Telkom line speed is.

I know that. The bulk of the article is about Telkom's free upgrade of ADSL accounts to the higher speed, which is why I said that they are finally catching up to the other ISPs.

TelkomInternet are upgrading all their customers for free, unlike most other ISPs.
