Web Africa launches 2Mbps uncapped ADSL account

Openweb R279
Axxess R296
Afrihost R297
Web Africa R299
Cybersmart R299
Telkom Internet R369
MWEB R369

Phew... Mweb is not looking too good... I can't see how I can stay with them when my line gets upgraded... :/

Is their bandwidth that much better?

come on MWEB!!!!!!!
Mweb's price is shocking...same as telkom!!!

To be fair, Ive tried at least 2 of those other ISP's (besides MWEB), and MWEB's performance and consistency by FAR outperforms the others .. so for 70 rand .. Ill keep it thanks.

Wow, 2mbps line for under R300 a month. Who would of thought we would of ever seen this in SA so early?

Meh just gonna move to a 30GB capped account...

NO shaping, don't dl more that 20GBs anyways, and still leaves me 10GBs to play with if I do...

I have a feeling you may be right.

I've always been more than happy with the quality of MWEB's bandwidth. As you say, it's just 70 bucks.

Would you care identifying which 2 other ISPs? And when you tried them?

With WebAfrica? Even the 30gb will be shaped - and it wouldn't surprise me if most of the other isp's do too.

I've tried Afrihost and Axxess for uncapped and got shaped very quickly (ok, I realise they're basically the same!). If I was to go for uncapped now, it would be mweb.

I used to be with MWEB, and in my experience Web Africa is much more reliable and consistent - plus their support is tops! Just downgraded from 4mbps to 2mpbs so guess I'll have to wait and see how it performs!

just checked and my line has been upgraded!!!
i need to make a decision soon....

Why not upgrade the 384 lines before the 1 megs? :( I guess i'd be saying that if I were on a 1 meg and they were upgrading 384 first, but ya seems this is only happening for me or us in the 1st week of October :(

openweb price is good but i don't like being throttled in my first week. mweb doesn't do that so I'll stay
