iTunes music coming to South Africa

This will all depend on pricing and song selection...

If Core have anything to do with it, the pricing will be stupid and the selection will be crap.

You've clearly never visited an Apple rumour site. This would be considered solid evidence, if they cared about South Africa ;)

Yeah, hopefully this will push Google to launch the full Play store here (or at least music... or anything other than apps...)
 
I fail to understand why one would by music from iTunes if you can get it DRM free from Nokia Music and can legally distribute copies to your friends. I'm obviously ignorant, please enlighten me :whistle:

WTF? What a pointless article. Don't call it "iTunes music coming to South Africa" call it what it is. Still no iTunes in South Africa and nobody knows when it if ever will come
 
The only music I'm spending money on is the occasional physical CD and a Simfy subscription.
 
You guys are dreaming if you think we'll get anything more than a fraction of the iTunes catalogue here. It'll be like the Kindle SA store - nerfed due to regional licensing issues - except far worse.

(Probably all a moot point tho - as I read the article - "uh, we think maybe there's a slight chance somebody said there might be an iTunes SA store sometime, but we dunno when. But soon. Honest.")

For the record, there was a little bit of effort involved getting my Amazon US account, but I can buy pretty much the same stuff as off iTunes and I don't need to deal with Apple. So yeah, as someone said on page 1 - "too little, too late"

iTunes Store is drm free...since 2009.
