Isn't it illegal to have parked/shelved .co.za domains?

There is a certain domain I MUST have yet it and every variation of it is parked by a site called sedo.com, which I found to be a UK company. Isn't this against the terms of use set out by UniForum who manages the .co.za domain?

You have to prove they are not using the domain. Otherwise what they are doing it perfectly legit.
 
It is not "illegal"- but Uniforum does state in T&Cs that
5. Applicant's Warranties & Indemnity
5.1 Applicant hereby irrevocably represents, warrants and agrees that:
...
5.1.3 it has a bona fide intention to use the Domain Name on a regular basis on the Internet;

However, it will be hard to prove that the squatter is squatting. I have a couple of domains that are just holding pages, although I extensively use mail on those domains.

How are you going to prove to Uniforum that the squatter is not actually using them?
 
nope, still considered used, as its not just blank...

whats the domain in question?
 
Domain arbitration will show they are in breech then
 
I have one domain I just use for email, no website. Would that be considered parked. I am in fact using it as I said only for email.
 
Sedo is simply a website where you can buy and sell domain names. So, many domain squatters / traders buy thousands of domains and list them on Sedo for sale.

I had a discussion with Uniforum and they are perfectly happy with people buying domains and selling them without putting up any website. They cannot take actions and take the domains away.

Tens of thousands of SA domains are in the hands of individuals / companies abroad who sell them on Sedo or similar services.

Unfortunately not much one can do.
 
You should purchased that domain while you could have. Domain settlers got there first.
