Preliminary details seem to indicate that Nokia Lumia 920 is quite a distance ahead of this game, unless if Apple comes up with a rabbit out of the hat. I hear they will not have NFC meaning no wireless charging.

Have a look here.

From the leaks that I have seen so far, most of what has been used here is likely to be confirmed in the unveiling event on 12 September. If you don't know what the 12 September unveiling is then perhaps you just need to go and watch Days of Our Lives or something right now. WWE Raw?

This time, Nokia is up against No. 1.

very bad comparison. much important is how the operating system do.

Nokia is ahead of what?

Why did the Nokia share price continue to free fall even as they unveiled their latest device?

Is that a rhetorical question or a proper question?
If it's the latter, then the simple answer is that a single announcement isn't going to convince investors. They need to see growth, and that isn't going to happen for a few months. The situation won't change drastically once the phones are released either, things take time.

The real answer to the guys question is just as speculative as the stock price. It really has nothing to do with how good a product is but more to do with what the sentiment is.

Only time can tell whether people will pick up on Nokia Lumia's superiority over the iPhone. Remember, they said they are in a marathon and not in a 100m dash to the no. 1 spot again. I would not be surprised if people still choose the iPhone over Nokia this time, despite its superiority. Its about sentiment.

Third time is a charm. The third iteration of Lumias will put Nokia in its rightful place.

Third? Iteration 1 - 800/900/720/610. What was iteration 2?

Iteration 2 is the 5 September unveilings.

What I am saying therefore is that the 920 and 820 and the other WP8 Nokia devices to come this year, will not be huge competition for the iPhone and Android devices. They will not have sufficient buy in.

However, once the Lumia line is more tried and tested, people will flock to it in the third iteration, which will come next year.

Iteration 1 - 2011/12 (900, 800, 710 and 610)
Iteration 2 - 2012/13 (920, 820, 822, 'Atlas', 'Glory', 'Flame')
Iteration 3 - 2013/14 (improved versions of the above and more)
