USA already showed that Itlay can be vulnerable. Three red cards in their last game- will we see a repeat of last night's antics?

As for the Aussies, they were talking it up before the tournament about how far they were going to get. IMO they were lucky that the Czechs sucked so badly for whatever reason.

There may be an upset here...

Disgraceful performance by the referee - it wasn't even a 50/50 decision - the striker tripped over the defender.

I was hoping for an Aussie victory :(.

Yeah some of the decisions in this cup have been shocking. The refs need to learn to start playing advantage, if not they need to be held accountable for their actions. Especially in a match like this where a decision affects the outcome of the match.

Betting for an underdog gives you higher odds if your team wins ;)

EDIT: At least we can rest assured the Aussies won't take this lightly, they're famous for bitching until something gets done :D

Shocking! That ref must never be allowed to referee a soccer game again.
 
the ref was so kuk today...wasnt a red card and certainly wasnt a penalty...this ref should be yellow carded by blatter. Last night's ref did his job the best he could.
 
Oh God, I feel sick now.

That player must be penalized as well, this situation has gotten out of hand. Players must be penalized for overacting and trying to create fouls. The player should be fined now or not allowed to play for the rest of the World Cup. Players should fear acting for a penalty and avoid it at all costs, it's making a fcking mockery of the game. It's fkcing sick.
 
Penalty was definitely not one.

Red card was fine. Go in two-footed and you are going to walk.
 
WOW I feel bad for the socceroos...that was definitely the wrong descision by the ref. Italy don't deserve that win..
 
Well for years now the World Cup is decided by acting. Argentina's successes spring to mind. Maybe they should play for the Oscar trophy. Unless soccer does something drastically, the good game is going to die. It is shameful to think that Italy can feel proud of their victory, and that their supporters could in fact have pride in the ACTING team.

As for the ref, he should never be allowed to referee any match anywhere.

Every sport has adopted TV as aids in reaching decisions. It is high time that the actors get shown up for what they really are- a bunch of crooks!

And I have never been a supporter of Australian sport(their superiority hurts to much!)

It is hard to support the aussies but at least they play a good game of footy and arent cheats.
