Can I transfer songs from my iPhone to iPad?

I have some great songs on my iPhone and wanna move them to my new iPad, how to do it? Can iTunes transfer files between IOS device? I would not like to installed a 3rd party software Unless necessary.
 
You can't transfer directly from device to device if that's what you're asking. You can transfer the content from your iPhone to your PC and into iTunes, then from iTunes into the iPad. Right click on the iPhone in the left pane of iTunes and choose Transfer Content from Device or something to that effect. Then that music will be a part of the iTunes library and you can add it as normal to your iPad.

It's not as simple as that, unfortunately. It only works if you have downloaded content onto the iPhone. Itunes will try to sync the content from the PC to the iPhone. The only way is to install a 3rd party app.

I decided to register to say something. If you bought the songs from iTunes, you can copy them to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases then transfer them to your iPad. Otherwise you cant transfer your files from iPhone to pc directly unless using a 3rd party iPhone transfer software, I kown you dont wanna use 3rd party software to do but I dont kown why, this is a safe and free software for transfer between IOS device: http://www.iostransfer.com/ios-transfer.html It's really necessary or you can report me.

Ok no man that's good, I'm happy to be corrected.
 
You can jailbreak the device, then use SSH to transfer the files, then VLC Media player to play them
 
This is exactly why I completely abandoned my iPod Touch sooooo many hoops to jump through :sick:
I'll donate it to a lucky niece this xmas
 
Why is everyone talking about 3rd party apps? There's a simple method for this and its called sync!
I'm assuming the way you got your music on your phone was via iTunes. All you have to do is make sure whatever music that's on your iPhone is in your iTunes music library(Pc/mac) then plug your iPad in and press sync.

To add music into your library either download it from iTunes directly or if you have mp3's on our pc, just open iTunes then add those files and press sync.

This is the method I've been using and havent had any problems.

Lots of assumptions. What if the music is on his iPhone but NOT(or not anymore) on his iTunes or Computer.

This happened to me, I synced lots of music to my iPod Touch then my hard drive crashed... clean install no music on the PC. You can't sync back lol.... jump lil doggy jump through those hoops

Can't just click on the songs or folders and then click "Share" like on an Android phone for example

This is pretty much why I'll never get an ipod/iphone/iwhatever.

Why silly? Because you wanna send 4 gigs of music via bluetooth? or because you can't use your beloved windows explorer? aiaiai, you guys always find a reason to complain.
 
Transfer Music from iPhone, iPod, or iPad to a Computer for Free
This process will copy all music from the device to a Mac or Windows PC:

Turn off automatic syncing in iTunes, do this through iTunes Preferences > Devices > check “Prevent iOS hardware from syncing automatically”, then quit iTunes
Download iExplorer from here (free for Mac OS X and Windows) and install it
Connect the iPhone, iPad, or iPod to the computer by USB
Launch iExplorer and click the arrow next to the iOS devices name, then click the arrow next to “Media” and then again next to “iTunes_Control”
Drag the entire “Music” folder to a location on the desktop, this is all of your music and it may take a while to transfer
Quit iExplorer when finished
When finished all music will have been successfully copied from the iOS device to the Mac or PC, all while maintaining the music stored on the iPod/iPhone as well.

If you’re satisfied you can stop here, but the Music directory containing the music is arranged in somewhat unusual fashion with songs stuffed into a bunch of “F##” folders with even more meaningless file names. The easiest way to sort and rename all of these files is to use iTunes to import the folder, and if you use iTunes for general media management anyway you’ll want to complete this secondary process as well.

Simple as opposed to right click, copy and then paste where you want your songs to go? No third party software needed, no need to rename your folders etc? Do you fly from JHB to CT via Cairo as well?

This is a thread about how to get files from one apple device to another, nobody here cares how you do it on android.
