infinite call ?

Gunny they still offer it, but there are certain restrictions such as not being allowed to use it with other telkom services (Closer included i believe) and not being allowed it on a business line.

It is not listed on their website under services and products they offer.

If you want it, call telkom. If they say they dont offer it, say you are recording the call and ask again, "for clarification", and see what they say. If they still refuse to give it to you, hang up and call right back. Keep calling until you get a consultant who will activate it for you.

Thing is I looked at a friends bill and they charge for infinite, no other cost saving products are on the bill except for that. Looking at the call charges I saw that none of the callmore time calls where "capped" R48.10 and R32.67 for single calls on weekends where ones that stood out. I decided to find out what the hell happened. I called telcon with my aurgumentitive cap on and enquired as to what the "cap" on infinite calls where. I was told sorry we dont offer that service anymore we have other products now.
My question .... where to from here ? is it worth the fight ?

Lol, how typical. They still charged me for infinite call on my last bill - I've been meaning to cancel it..

Sorry, that came across aggressively when it was not intended as such.

I am unsure what to make of what you have said Gunny.

On the one hand, it could be that Telkom has decided to apply different rules to just this one case alone. We all know that thye often do things like that.

On the other hand, it could be that they have, in fact, dropped InfinitCall and decided not to inform their customers. This is also very likely.

InfinitCall is still available. Using it as I type this. :p
Limit per dial-up/call is R9.85 incl. VAT.
Monthly costs R62+- incl. VAT.

Hope that's some usefull info. ^_^

Do we want to stress ourselves out and have high blood pressure for 3 months while trying to find out how this happened and then spend 3 months in the same state trying to get a refund. The supervisor just blew us off saying why dnt you go for the internet package at R150 and couldnt understand when i told him that 3 weekends online would chow the 150min where with infinite call it works out much cheaper. They talked around the charges for infinate call that where paid without actually having infinate call.

Just had someone call Telkom and enquire. Was told the following:
"no its not avaliable, and the guy didnt know when it stopped cause he deals with prepaid".

Ok, now someone else call Telkom and see if we get the same response. Try 10210.

I have enough 'missions' going on at the moment, but somehow, I get caught up and jump to attention whenever a consumer issue around Telkom comes up. It's more of a curse than anything else, cos I struggle to get my own stuff done.

I "love" telkom ... they always trying to convince you how their 5 times more expensive product than the one you want is much cheaper and better for you ... I suspect that there are not many people working there with completed 3rd grade ...

Lol too true.
They tried to convince me to go for the closer 2 option and the R150 surf package thats R245 after 1 hr you get billed 68c a min you have to hang up and call again. After you use your 150min on the surf thingy you get billed 68c a min. Call on peak time are charged at normal rates.

And is a public holiday not considered callmore time in telkoms eyes ? I see no mention of public holidays being call more time only weekends ?

My understanding:
Closer2: calls on peak time charged with 68c minimum.
No Telkon does not consider public holidays to be off-peak time. Beware.

Thx Debbie.
I'll check up on the 68c thing. They told me peak is charged at normal rates.
Does anyone there even know whats going on? i dnt think so.

From what I understand, Telkom is continuing to provide the infiti-call option to people who have it already.

But for people who want to start it now, they're trying to phase out the service, but apparently it's still possible to get it going with some lucky legwork.

Yeah they tell people this, but legally they cannot refuse it to you if you are a wanna-be new InfinitCall customer.
