Hi guys

Can someone please advise me how to extract all the music (1000+ songs) from my ipod Touch to my new laptop? All the music which was on my old PC is lost since the PC crashed.

I just dowloaded an app which successfully seemed to be extracting the music (and I was like this --> :D ) until it stopped and told me the trail version is limited to 100 songs (and then my face was like this --> )

I was told that winrar would be the best solution for me but I am completely useless at this sort of stuff and have no idea how to go about using it.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated (but please bear in mind that you have to keep things simple - I am a novice) :o

Hi Abzo

I do have iTunes. However, I would like to transfer the music to my laptop itself so I can store it on my memory card for my phone. Will iTunes help me do this? Because I haven't figured out a way to get it from iTunes to my laptop... Agh, i should just throw away all my gadgets and go live under a rock :D

Assuming you use Windows, Ephpod can do this.

Free, easy to use.

Edit - oh, I see Ephpod is no longer supported. The download page suggests CopyTrans as an alternative, but I have never used that, so don't know if it is any good. You can still download Ephpod here: http://www.copytrans.net/download-zip.php?program=EP

Yes, check in itunes advanced settings for the folder on your pc to which the files are stored. I don't have itunes so i'm not sure where exactly that is.

can you see the ipod in explorer? if so, just copy all the files to your C: drive and use mp3tag to write the tags again

connecting the ipod to itunes could wipe your ipod

Nope, it doesn't show up. That was the first thing I tried doing.

BUT I managed to get them to my laptop with Sharepod! :D So amped!

Thank you all for your help!

Are you still going to hang around or only return when you need help again? :(
