help overclocking

Ok on your driver CD there should be a little app called AIBooster, install that and use it to overclock. When you are feeling a little more brave then we can talk about overclocking in the bios. But AIBooster will let you OC pretty well
 
try setting your FSB to around 240 with AIBooster that will give you a decent/safe OC

Why do you want to overclock it?

I have one of the oldest P4s around. A 1.6GHz 'Willamette' processor. Only now has this processor begin to struggle. Your processor should be able to dance the hokey-pokey around my processor.
 
im not using an intel okes

i tried that program and none of the option work

plz tell me what i should change
i know fsb but what else needs to change
 
killadoob, click the little spanner icon. Set external frequency to 240. click apply
 
you can google that, everyone has there own opinion. I have never had any issues doing it :)

I wouldn't say it's unsafe, but you have to have cooling, stock cooling (cooling that comes with the cpu) isn't always sufficient. A heatpipe or some watercooling and an overclocked cpu can be heaven :rolleyes:
 
reason why i am asking i tried overclocking my motherboard and failed two times burned out two mb in 1 week stupid eh?

who is a expert here that can help me maybe it's worth trying again.
 
Man, it's unsafe if you don't know what you're doing. Do it SLOWLY and carefully and it's difficult to fry something. The other night i overclocked my stepdad's Celeron D 2.4Ghz to 3.4Ghz, on stock air cooling. Just be careful when you do it dude, that's all i'm saying. Do it slowly.

I want to give it a try - I've got two under utilized pc's ATM just sitting around crunching WCG data (purely for the free easynews gigs.) so if they die its no biggie.
 
slowly? like with a .1 or what how much speed increases do you get when you do it slowly?

no man he means do it in reason, not like "ummm, i have a 3200+ I am going to overclock it to 4GHz". You have to be realistic when overclocking. Look at a decent overclock like what I mentioned to killadoob, then incriment in 1s till you find your maximum overclock.
