My friend in the UK is on Telewest Wi-Fi 4mb line (@15 pounds / m)
First 128K 16 msecs: Download speed = 8192000 Bytes per sec, Approx = 68157K bits per sec
Second 128K 16 msecs: Download speed = 8192000 Bytes per sec, Approx = 68157K bits per sec
Third 128K 15 msecs: Download speed = 8738133 Bytes per sec, Approx = 72701K bits per sec
Fourth 128K 15 msecs: Download speed = 8738133 Bytes per sec, Approx = 72701K bits per sec

-Avg. = +-8000kb/s (+-8 mb/s)

The thing I don't understand is how does he get 8mb/s on a 4mb/s line?
 
Jeh don't understand that either. Maybe it is a 8mb line. He's not so technical with the network stuff.

This is broadband prices - but check the VM GPRS/Edge rates in the UK - it is very expensive - 0.5p per KB

This translates into more than R66 per MB

Remember that Vodafone in the UK offers 3G at R600 per month with unlimited data traffic (not limited to 1Gig)

So VM is not always good for everybody - Parasites do things like this. I am sure that Cell C already regrets its dataprices for Virgin Mobile.
