Show me somone in trouble for *downloading*, and I'll find it easier to beleive.

The $220,000 fine was for "file-sharing", P2P has the vital *upload* component that is absent from "news servers". Many MP3 sites are closed because they supply the content (without premission from copyright holders), likewise for P2P'ers.

Keep in mind: (my legal knowledge) = (very small) ;)

And of course there is a first time for everything...

Yay another news server thread!On one hand . . . . The server is dead - might as well let people know how appalling they are so they dont waste their time and money by thinking otherwise.

then on the other hand . . . . the very premise of the thread shows we need to have a sticky on how to search the forum because the subject has been discussed ad nauseum.

On that basis - thread closed.
