Not sure this article is particularly accurate. Gives the impression it was written by someone who knows nothing about the topic on which they are writing.

They're fairly durable if you don't use them as frisbees and coasters.

TDK was working on a hard coating, but it might be a while before we see it in general use.
 
true true no frisbee or coffee coasters but the general day 2 day scratches
