Telkom has finger on the pulse of dialling changes

i am sure that tracing the whole 10 digit dialling thing back a couple of years would reveal another sad story of regulatory incompetence...i seem to remember this being imminent some time in 2002 (?)

on the plus side this awareness has made it easier to move between the office and home phones...now when i get home and dial 0 to get an outside line I can just carry on with the local code...021..and then the number
 
Just because the word imminent' appears with ICASA's name, doesn't make it imminent. :D
 
wasn't there an issue with the alarm companies needing an extension because the alarm systems were set to dial only 7 digits to the monitoring office?
