Source News24:
Johannesburg - Cabinet on Wednesday approved the establishment of the South African Space Agency, Government Communications said in a statement on Thursday.

The agency would be an institutional vehicle for the coordination and implementation of South Africa's national space science and technology programmes.

"The agency will conduct long-term planning and implementation of space-related activities in South Africa for the benefit of all citizens," the statement said.

It would coordinate its activities closely with the South African Council for Space Affairs and stakeholders, and would report to the Minister of Science and Technology.

I don't want to sound pessimistic, but if we can't build public transport, look after current infrastructure, etc. How in <your deity> name, are we going to run a space program? Unless, they will just use to have meetings, and braais once a year?

Dude, a space agency doens't mean that we are going to be sending people to space. It is just an agency to deal with all space related activites (e.g satellites)

At the moment we send up satelites via Europe (?), so whats going change by having a space agency?

Send criminals to space?
Jails are out of "Space" so send them were there seems to be lot of "space" :D

I just hope we can buy shares:D

Apparently killadoob has been apointed as spokesman, journalists entering the premises where news briefs are to be had will be issued with 1 of 2 items:
1. Chow for when you get the munchies
or
2. Gas mask's.

Rizla's and tobacco can be bought at the door.

Lemme guess, they reckon they can shoot things into space with giant elastics in giant catapults?
