Ive being watching this for a couple of weeks now, and I have refrained from commenting up until now. I cant anymore. The news reporting has become so one sided I don't know how to be able to trust the information I am getting on the situation.
Understand I support neither side, as this is simply an argument about which god has the largest <censored man hood> size.
However, the press has being completely one sided to that of the Lebanese plight. A simple look through today's headlines will show you what I mean.
"Children killed in southern Lebanon" etc etc. Yes, children are getting killed, but I BLAME THEIR PARENTS. Israel has being dropping pamphlets over Southern Lebanon for the last couple of weeks warning people that their area is going to get nailed. What type of parent are you to allow your kids to stay in that area? Disgusting.
I believe both sides have fair arguments in the micro scale. Israel wants to stop the rockets raining down on northern Israel, and Lebanon wants to stop the attacks into its lands.
However, the Lebanese government does not have the ability to control Hezbollah in its lands, and since Hezbollah has 15 000 rockets raining down on Israel, and Lebanon cant do anything about it, I think Israel has the right to take them down.
Something I would like to point out here. Israel uses American supplied military hardware. These are precision ordnance designed to take out specific targets. Civilians are not targeted, and Israeli warplanes drop pamphlets over an area they are about to nail before the attack. Israeli damages to civilians is unintended, and they do try to avoid it as much as possible.
Hezbollah has completely unguided rocket systems (they're basically an adaption of Stalin's organs), these are shot into residential areas to cause max damage. They target civilians intentionally. They have no collateral damage.
I think its a little unfair, to paint Israel with the wrong brush, when they seriously are going out of their way to minimize the loss of civilian lives, while hezbollah are specifically targeting civilians.
Why don't parents move their kids out of the area? Why don't Hezbollah stop using civilians as shield?
I'm not getting into the lame argument about who is right and who is wrong. Just by watching the international news, I am more inclined to support Israel, as I cant remember the last time Hezbollah warned the civilians that they are trying to kill, that they are about to be attacked.
I think I realized why South Africa has such a biased view of the situation, and Ill quote :
Somehow, I don't think I can count on Mr Pahad for a fair and impartial choice, in the roll of my country, and its reaction to the middle east rubbish. We should simply NOT GET INVOLVED. Its a war based on racism and imaginary best friends, and I think making silly comments like this minister did, simply puts us with most of the rest of the world in the idiot boat, in picking a side.
