Sounds more like invasion of privacy than flirting to me.

The self-organising sensor things are called Wireless Sensor Networks. Doing a final-year project using the technologies - fascinating stuff!

First, a motion sensor inside your phone detected which angle it was pointing in to work out the object of your attention. Then its Bluetooth wireless technology interrogated her phone to discover her identity. Next it entered her name into a search engine and checked her out using a wireless internet connection.anyone walking around with their phones knowingly broadcasting personal information about themselves like this would definitely not be the "object of my attention", much less the "object of my affection" ;)

Prof. Hancke's group? Can't wait for ubiqitious wireless networks and connectivity like was described in Vernor Vinge's latest novel.

The European Union is already supporting research into intelligent coffee cups which will warn people when the contents are hot

Wow! So the steam isn't enough of a hint anymore? I worry about us, I truly do. :)

Sounds kinda cool actually. All the advances in technology should they come true will be wonderful. Whatever happened to that sprayon LCD invention that was so anticipated a while ago?

I'm actually still more interested in any advances in VR that may/may not come about sometime in the future.
