Nokia 6020, how do I tell if I'm on Edge?

Hey guys

Planning on using my Nokia 6020 with CA-42 data cable as a dial-up alternative at home, for checking email and whatnot.

How do I tell if my connection is using EDGE or not? I know Virgin is supposed to use it, but where is the indication that the correct settings are downloaded?

The phone is definitely edge compatible, so ...

Read the Manual. I think it should display an E together with the G (GPRS) icon.
 
if the phone is EDGE compatible and you have EDGe reception in your area you should connect via EDGE.

I dont know about 6020 - buy my 6230i just shows G even when on EDGE.

If you're getting fast speeds then you know it's EDGE
