About 75 percent of professional soccer players in South Africa smoke dagga, parliament has heard.
But this is the least of sports organisations' drug worries, according to the authorities - because cannabis is low on the list of performance-enhancing substances.
The Deputy Minister of Sport and Recreation, Gert Oosthuizen, told parliament's sports committee that sporting and anti-doping bodies were far more concerned about the use of other banned substances, mostly in the cycling fraternity.
