For Vodacom you can send an email to [email protected].
The "[email protected]" work nicely. but u can only send like 2 per day.
I would like to know if mtn / cell-c has such service too ?

C'mon - someone has to know - how u send to mtn???
I am not aware of such a service for MTN and Cell C. Latest I heard was something about [email protected], but I have no idea if it works...

You could sign up for www.bulksms.co.za and then use that. They have good prices and you can email to virtually any operator worldwide I think....

It is possible to send SMS from email.
You just need to configure the email client you have. Ex. Microsoft Outlook
All you need to do is in "To" field put the recipients number with @domainyouwant.com. In "Subject" field you put the sender name. Note: I have not tried sender name with spaces and special characters.

For this purpose I have created a simple sms by email service. You can send SMS via email to more than 200 countries.
