ag dude these days seems vodacom simply buy the phones from MTN, if its anything like the Nok N80 you will proipably have to pay in like R5000 for the p990i

I was waiting for the P990i when my contract was up for renewal, and waited an extra 4 months.
Then I got my hands on the N80 and have not looked back since. That was 3 months ago. You may wait another 3 months before the P990i finally arrives, when I am sure some of its features will be outdated.
Just like you, I know that I will like to have a P990i, but I suggest you get something else in the interim and re-evaluate getting the P990i when it finally arrives.

' The P990 has finally been released globally BTW. Just thought people should be aware of that... Stock may still be an issue for the next few days or week or so, but stock should now be shipping globally.
' Of course one still needs to wait for the networks to test and accept the handset should you want it on contract instead of SIM-free - but our networks do have and have had handsets in testing for a wee bit already, so it's not as if you need to wait for that entire process to start 1st, just for it to be successfully brought to a close.
' Depending on your needs, there are some things a Nokie N-x or whatever just won't do for ya. If you need a P990 then hold yer horses. The wait is basically over.
