The exhibition showcases garlic, lemon and beetroot.

Two bottles of anti-retroviral drugs, as well as male and female condoms, were dotted among the vegetables that form part of the government's healthy-lifestyle awareness campaign that encourages people to exercise regularly and eat healthy food.

Show me the medical professional who will disagree that healthy food, and regular exercise will not increase life expectancy or quality of life for people living with HIV and Aids

Indeed an extremely irresponsible article which only showcases the publication's biased reporting. The "garlic" sentence has been added for no purpose other than to take a cheap shot.

WHAT?? Healthy living is relative, and will not necessarily increase your life expectency.
 
Even though, she should not be lauding the benefits of garlic (and the others) when she knows full well that an HIV/AIDS patient should be given proper medication as well as eating healthy.

I think thats the point that is missing here.

Are you saying that healthy food, and regular exercise do not affect all people, irrespective of their medical condition?

Why not include air and water in your statement?

Exactly, govt is promoting a healthy lifestyle awareness campaign in Toronto - they are not saying Garlic and beetroot cure Aids - it merely improves quality of life, boosts the immune system etc.

as for treatment - they recognise the importance of treatment as well as prevention and protection therefore the inclusion of the ARVs, condoms, and messages promoting abstinence at the confie
 
wonder if they had a aids shower on display too :). Maybe they are waiting for our next president to patent it.

Why are they doing this at an aids conference? Healthy living is not specifically aids related. Surely if one exhibits at an aids conference one emphasises aid related aspects, not some broad generalities which applies to all living organisms.

I guess a shower is a holistic approach to treating AIDS aswell, especially thus that it is proclaimed as a cure :rolleyes:

its all logical! ... R10 a month garlic and beetroot medicine is cheaper than R500 for ARV's,
cummon chaps, its the same mentality as circumcising a young man and letting him walk about semi-naked on the top of a hill for a month makes him a man, Raping a virgin cures aids..... ad nauseum..

Zuma's "ignorance" on showering has nothing to do with Government's approach to HIV/Aids as much as Terreblanche falling off a horse has to do with FW winning the nobel peace prize
