SA police seize hijacked cars from top Zim officials

Each year, more than 30000 cars stolen or hijacked in South Africa are smuggled across the border and sold in neighbouring countries such as Mozambique, Angola, Zambia, Namibia and Botswana.

Would seem the SA motor insurance industry (and the sa citizen) is keeping the whole of southern africa supplied with vehicles. Viva Mercedes Benz!

Yes and then some people are more worried about how much cattle, sheep and chickens were ‘stolen’ by Europeans from their forefathers. I don’t think chickens and sheep even were part of the black population. And the Inguni is the only type of cattle they have had and that is not the type of cattle used in commercial farming.
Before someone points out that I am posting to the wrong thread, an explanation:
There are elements in SA that regard theft from other people than your own as a legitimate action. These officials involved in these crimes do not see it as a crime.
Now what makes me think that these elements justify why segregated development was chosen at a time to solve this kind of problem.
 
SOUTH African police have seized three hijacked cars from senior Zimbabwean goverment officials.
This week, a former Zimbabwean government member of Parliament confirmed that he had been arrested for defeating the ends of justice when two luxury cars — a Mercedes-Benz Kompressor and BMW X5 hijacked in South Africa — were found at his home.
Phillip Chiyangwa, a nephew of Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe, confirmed that two associates of his who were “being chased” had asked him to park the vehicles at his home.
However, Chiyangwa, who describes himself as the “Tokyo Sexwale or the Donald Trump of Zimbabwe” denied he knew they were stolen vehicles.
“I have a lot of cars at my house. I can actually donate cars. I’m rich. I don’t need to steal cars from South Africa,” Chiyangwa said this week

But a bargian of R100 000 (if that much) for a stolen X5 is still hard to pass up even if you're rich...
