I have a mac mini with an ir port, so i bought a remote for it.

Now i bough aApple tv, with the same remote!
they contract each other and things are getting annoying when i want to watch something on my Atv, my macs music starts playing.

i looked up the help section on apple but it still wont work.

have any of you had the same issues and a way to resolve them without turning off my macs ir port.

Please any advice will help.

Now don't be rude. We don't come to the windows forums and call you fanboys.

System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> (click the lock icon if it's locked) -> Advanced

Either disable remote or click on Pair to set it up with one.
