Sentech to release voice carriers this year

Finally the real SNO? Sentech National Operator - me likes :)

Pity snot is spending so much time mucking about instead of rolling out services.

I did some research a few months back and there is good news for all of you! Why?
1. Find out who owns Skype
2. Find out who owns the SNO
3. Get a copy of Skype if you don't have one
4. Join the dots to see how the the SNO, together with Skype, can lower call costs to SA landline numbers via VoIP.

The SNO will get an interconnect termination rate with Telkom of roughly half the current Telkom retail tariff, which means the SNO has around 30 cents per minute to play with - as gross profit. The SNO just needs an international gateway and a POI with Telkom. A fairly small effort I would say.
They team up with Skype (which is also part of VSNL International), and can terminate calls on any Telkom line and save you a buck while making, as Dire Straits said it, money for nothing!
They can just about do this without laying any cabling. They can make good money just by passing calls onto Telkom. No doubt, Telkom will repsond and so we enter a price war, and that is just the thing you South Africans need!

Skype is owned by eBay. Does VSNL own them too? I though it was owned by the Loomis Sayles Growth fund.

Oh, yeah let me clarify...
Skype and Teleglobe are part of the VSNL Group. Skype already has a business relationship with Teleglobe.
