as far as i can see the Z560 is the only 3g HSDPA phone in SA at moment? is this correct?

It is about the 3rd one.
The Samsung ZV50 was before the Z560, it is also HSDPA.
Then there is also the Ben-Q Siemens EF91, which was cleared 2 weeks or so ago on the Vodacom network.

lol ja i saw now vodacom already gives the zv50 away with dvd player and headset free on weekender contract. i need to update my info a bit hehe. thanks

And the Motorola RAZR V6 Maxx, it is 3.6 mbps ready, I've used it for about 3 months now.
The Nokia E90 and 6110 Navigator is also HSDPA.
