Good start for united. Their positive attitude and determination to prove the critics wrong has lifeted their game. Feel really good for Ole for scoring the 3rd goal last night.
As for Chelsea, they sat back and defended their 1 goal lead...what an error that was.
Is everyone on this site a Manure supporter?
hj2k_x, how accurate was my score prediction?

How original
They happened to be the 1st team i saw and liked. Was a 2-2 draw in fact with Crystal Palace in the cup. So no glory-supporting there.

checked ur thread predictin...good stuff dog!
Supported United since 95. Regardless of how they play, I'll always support them.
Funny thing how everyone says things about United fans. Many people support Liverpool because they won just about everything in the 80's and still go on about how they are the greatest club in England.

All these stupid united fans :p, who cares really,i mean the only reason you ppl support united is cos they were the first team you saw.

How dare you sir! :D
As is a childs wont I supported the 'winningest' team in the 80's - Liverpool. However I have stuck with them through all the crap times and I'm still 100% red. I agree a lot of the Man U and recently, Chelsea supporters are simply because the teams are doing well in the 90's and now. However when things go south for those teams, how many of these fair weather fans will still be around?
If I had to support the closest team to where I was born I would be forced to choose between Luton (ugh!) or Barnet... Not exactly teams bathed in glory, so I'll stick with my beloved Reds. Lets face it, in this day and age of globalisation, regional support is something of a localised thing - if you excuse the redundancy of the phrase :D
In terms of pure trophys and the like, Liverpool are still the most succesful English club of all time...

no doubt...
what I meant was a lot of Liverpool supporters tell me I support united cos they are a winning team at the time (partly yes but also most my friends supported them too. But the 'pool fans (ones outside england) must also note that they also support 'pool cos they were winners once too...and not come up with excuses that we, united fans, only support the winning team. If so, I would be a chelsea fan now.

Exactly. Damn glory supporters! How many chelsea fans were there here like 5 years ago?? 10?? 20 maybe! Now check how many replica shirts there are out and about, all worn by these apparent 'lifelong' chelsea fans! Please...

WHO
THE
HELL
CARES
The whole idea of "supporting" a team doesnt make sense. Its not your team. It makes sense to support South Africa or support the bulls, or support kaizer chiefs or or or... How can you support a team who you have no relation to? You can say you like them or you like the way they play, etc. but support is a little strong. Supporting the SA rugby/cricket/soccer team makes sense.. AND one things for sure, no ways you care about those english clubs as much as the people that are actually from Manu, liverpool, arsenal etc. You see those grown men crying wen their team loses..

Agree with that, I've followed the English league for more than 20 years but don't "support" anyone. I just dislike Manyoo because their fans seem the least knowledgeable and they have had some of the most dislikeable players ever, e.g. Roy Keane.
Don't know how many times I've heard someone shout out in a bar "Go Giggsy!" when it's actually been O'Shea or Neville scampering along with the ball.

Well..I support SA team in rugby and cricket too. I have my teams for the currie cup, super 14 and club cricket. But i can tell u that I don't follow the local sports as much as I do with European soccer. The reason being that the quality of it here is poor especially we have goverment intervention. 'Fans' make up sport. With it it's pointless. I even follow baseball nowdays. They cry because it's their passion...the rivalry amongst fans too are what makes sport so fascinating to follow.

Finally!!! Someone that agrees with me. :)
I also watch european soccer as much as any1 here. I love spanish soccer, and watch laliga when ever i can. With valencia, barca, depo etc.etc.
Theyre really high quality games and dont dive and match fix like those italian pansies. I also agree that local soccer sucks and i dont watch that too often.
And fans do make a sport. no doubt
However, It doesnt make sense to support a team that you have no relation to whatsoever.Thats y whenever i watch manunited,(since i was 12 yrs old), i always back the oppsite team cos theyre usually the underdogs (in the 90's) :D

it's called globalisation. u watch games and if one team impresses u, u follow them.

Yes, it happens all over the world, it's not unique to SA "fans". You'll find American rugby followers supoprting the All Blacks, etc.

happy with united performance though it was a weakened side.
Good games tho..lots of goals and action.
Bad point: ben Thatcher should be thrown out of the premiership for such an attack on Mendes. He's a thug and deserves to be thrown in jail like duncan ferguson. Wasn't his first time Football365 noted. He punctured a player's lungs in a pre-season game once,
