Where do you work that you have 1Gb ADSL lines?we have two 1024Mb adsl line at work (Mb being mega bits) it never went anywhere near it's 128KB (bytes) max fastest it got was 90KB/s so in theory upgrading the two lines should yield a speed of 360KB/s (kilo bytes)
1024kb /8 = 128KB

Doesnt 1024mb = 1 gb?where did he say he have 1gb? he said mb?
No problol not with telkom![]()
sorry my bad![]()
No probHe could be in Asia somewhere perhaps which is why I didnt immediately discount it as a typo.
I divide by 10 to take into account overheads - ATM I get around 102KB/s so I'm hoping for around 400 KB/s.you never know hey....
silly Question. my line now sync at 4mbps. am i right in thinking that from 1 sept i will possibly be able to download something at 4mbps/8 = 512kilobytes per sec? as in 1meg every 2 seconds? as in "***ken vinnig" ?
Actually, i'm beginning to wonder if this isn't a new scam of Telkoms to increase line speed and then decrease the pricing on rental for the 384k and 512k lines, this will make up for ICASA's ruling and they won't lose cash as many will be tempted for the 4mb line.![]()
