Well, there were many threads on the N80 price -but this deserves a "special mention".

MTN was advertising the N80 FREE on Procall 120, and R989 of Mycall 100. This was against Vodacom's R1839 on Talk120 and R2536 on Weekender.

Wow, everyone thought, Vodacom is screwing us.

Well. I ordered the phone from MTN, for 3 weeks of August, they didn't have stock. They assured me today, they will have stock on monday - but the price is NOW R2036.00 on Mycall100. What crooks. I feel like reporting them to the competitions commission for false advertising.

Vodacom's FREE on weekender deal at vodaworld also doesn't have stock - they have at least offered to sign the contract now, and they will get me the phone later.

I think it's rediculous the way we are treated in this country.

Lodge a complaint on hellopeter.com, usually gets a response from them.

N80

We have the N80, E61, SP5 in stock.

If Vodacom don't have it, upgrade to a phone of similar value and we'll swop it out for you.

I wish you had told me this last week, when MTN had N80's for R989 on Mycall100. I could have gotten an N91 and swapped it with you guys :-)

I'll see what phones I can get, two poeple have promised N80's at the "old" price because I kicked up such a fuss - If I can't get it I'll contact you! Thanks very much for your offer though, really nice of you! ;)

 is the price reductions a sign of what's to come in the days coming closer to the 18th September?
Could be making for some very interesting stuff....
Is the new Vodacom deals out yet or when will the be available?
What contract is the price R1099 on Vodacom?

The R1099 price is on Business Call. It's in the new vodacom specials booklet - effective until 6 October 2006 - so I presume effective FROM the 7th of September?

I got my phone!!! YAY!

Autopage gave me one FREE on Weekender Plus @ R135 per month inclusive of itemised billing etc. Essentially, I'm paying R3300 (135*25 (cause we know how autopage doesn't let you cancell until after month 24) but if I cancell the itemised billing etc *which I will as it's not my primary contract* it'll be even cheaper! yay

N80 price on CellC

Spoke to a friend who owns a CellC store - prices vary almost daily, depending on deals that the networks negotiate with the handset manufacturers.

Price of N80 on CellC at the moment:
1. R5860 Cash - not network locked.
2. ActiveChat 220 upwards - free.
3. ActiveChat 100 - R1102.
4. CasualChat 100 - R2950.

No stock in his store, but the CellC warehouse DOES have stock and will deliver to any CellC store within 2-3 days.

nice! :) Thanks mohammedm
Gratz broken1, seems like it is almost just me left still having to wait for mine... :(

In the meantime, don't be shy with the feedback on your new awesome phone ;)

Broken1,you are lucky to get it free,I had to pay R588 on a M-Tel contract.
I got my phone 3 months now. What network are you on with Autopage?

Got it at Vodaworld, with Vodacom.

I picked it up at 4:55, 5 minutes before closing on the last day of the sale!

Free @ R135 Per month (including itemised billing, CLI, and quicksim)...a pretty good deal I say!

lilDeath, the phone is awesome. The themes on the phone SUCK, but it's just a matter of time before I find a really awesome one on the net.

The phone feels good, substantial - but not too big. It's classic symbian OS again, which I love. I've loved it since my very first 7650 (affectionately nicknamed the spaceship). The menu's are a tad slow (which I hear can be fixed with new firmware) but much faster than any other Nokia Symbian phone i've had. I popped in my 2-Gig Mini-SD card, so I've got tons of storage.

The phone comes with a headphone adapter, so you can plug normal headphones into the pop-port - great for listening to music! The camera is pretty good, it's still a cellphone - so I won't be taking wedding photo's with it, but for the odd snap it's great!

Bluetooth works flaulessly, to syncronise with the PC, in my car kit - it all paired first time, and connects first time! Sound quality is good, speaker on the side is very loud!

One really cool feature is the "say name" thing. When the phone rings, it goes [ring][ring] "work" [ring][ring] when work is calling me...it's funny :P I haven't tried the untrained voice dialing yet!

I'm really loving the phone so far :-)

Hi Broken1,I just call a Autopage branch in Cape town, they told me it cost much more than R135p/m,something like R1500 buy-in,R167p/m on weekend.
Which number you called??

It was a special at Autopage in Vodaworld only, which ended yesterday!

I first heard of it here, then on the vodacom website under specials, then on a bilboard on the highway and then I fought with them from August 10th till yesterday to get them to actually give me one.

I managed to get it "approved" (even though we already have 2 lines with them) yesterday at 4:55 :-) Alot of effort went into getting this phone, but i'm happy now!
