Every day that goes by, with all these issues remaining unresolved (e.g. price, cap,speed etc) and time apparently not a factor to anyone in power, makes a serious negative satement about us, and leads to the only logical conclusion:
SA cannot host the 2010 World Cup event.
We do not have the will or resources
We are not interested in resolving these issues
There is no gvt leadership, understanding or interest

I tend to disagree with you GM, so perhaps you should go and see someone...
It takes time to build the IT infrastructure which is needed to host the WC, and what BTech says, that the way things are progressing in SA, the WC is looking like a flop.
Same old crap we've heard from Roy - empty bloody promises. Please just one more thing no more bloody colloquiums and meetings to talk about the problem and make empty promises.
Govt is keeping South Africa hostage not Telkom as far as I'm concerned if they can't do anything about the high pricing and international bandwidth. They're the ones that are benefiting from the high prices not the public.

It's sad...It's come to a stage where I look at a thread title like this and don't even bother to read the article anymore. It's like this has been said over and over and over again in the past and frankly I'm sick of reading the same lip service without noticing any damn action.
My message to Roy: If you want to rehash the same old bull****, please be creative and try to put a new spin on it. Rewrite the speech, using your old speech notes is just not on, it just makes you look foolish

It would also not take them 4-5 years to get to a point where they can make comments like,,

Let's face it.. the govt doesn't have a clue what to do about telecoms and they're terrified of telkom and terrified of scaring off potential telecoms investors, yet they don't seem to have the expertise or will to do anything about the situation.
