I had R4.73 left before connecting, and I am now at 12 MB, streaming Highveld Stereo. Am going to see how long this one lasts :D

EDIT: Internaut, you'd better be wrong. Ok, got 19.5 MB before data stopped coming thru. Funny thing is, when I now check my balance it stands at R3.17.
Ooh this is so strange. I can reconnect again :D

After getting 19.5 MB for R4.73, the data stopped coming thru. I disconnected, checked my balance, and it was R3.17!
So now I have reconected and streaming again happily :D

Ok, check this out. Got another 10 MB of streaming radio. Then data stopped coming thru again. Disconnected, checked balance, and what do you know, R1.73!

Reconnecting again and heeeeer'es Highveld :D :D

Got another 10 MB. Reconnected now with a balance of R0.00. Ok, its getting boring now.
/Yawn
EDIT: Got about 30 MB extra in total. Just "vharged" with R50 via internet banking. New balance is R51.52!
Maybe Virgin, like Telkom Internet, has a "relaxed capping" policy. :)

I have found that when my VM airtime hits R0.00 I can always reconnect and transfer about 20KB of data before the data flow stops....
In other words I could in theory have a free connection but it would mean disconnecting and reconnecting after every 10 - 20KB of data

Nothing strange about this. In fact 20k is pretty small. MtN is the same except a lot more 'appears' to get through :D :D

I had the same thing happening to me. i was streaming Metro FM with R5.23 left in my account. About 37 MBs later, i got disconnected, i checked my balance and it said R0.00, i then recharged (R50), New Balance was R52.74.

I hope they don't fix this problem, i don't mind it.

I was on for about 20 mins before being cut off. Only 2MB extra, but I was not doing a lot of downloads. When I reloaded airtime nothing extra was taken off. so i suppose it is possible to get 20-30MB free. MTN leaves you on for 2 hours on weekends and I usually get 70 - 300MB during this time (HSDPA)

Taking/using something without paying for it is theft.

The thing is, i stay on the internet until they disconnect me. If they dont disconnect me, then i assume that i still have money in my account left. If i get disconnected and see that i have R1.73 left,i assume that due to a 'connection fault' i got disconnected and i'll connect again to use that last R1.73. It is not my job IMO to check that i get EXACTLY 100mb transfer for my R50 - that would be impractical. I do not check my data usage and account deductions everytime i disconnect,i surf till by balance drop to a zero, and only then will i go v-charge again.

Also,my phone does not have a datacounter to count the data i used, so i have no 'logs' to go and check etc etc.

Well, i checked my usage. I used about 3mb more than i had money on my account for. But that was it. It stayed on R0

Go VM!
