Hey, if ppl actually do buy the songs then they'll make a killing but i doubt they'll have lotsa loyal customers!

You mean to say their tech dept is not savvy enough to setup a generic MP3 based system? What a waste of time!

So you are paying R13 for a crappy low-rate 128k wma that is laced with drm that prevents you doing all kinds of things with the file. R130 for 10 songs, which you can get at proper CD quality on a pretty shiny disc from your music store and do with what you like for about the same price. From a horrible web site that seems to work correctly only with IE and that loads real slow. That I cannot use if I rebuild my PC, without begging these morons for permission to re-download. Now why would I stop legally downloading good 256k VBR MP3s for free off the net, and "go honest" ( which is not correct in terms of our law anyway )?

Was at a customer this morning. He signed up with PicknPlay to get some music to play on his iPod...but iTunes can't convert the DRMed WMA files! Fat lot of good that is - eliminate 90% of the MP3 player market...

With their .wma and their DRM, will iTunes (Windows version) be able to convert their songs into something an iPod can play? If not, they're retarded.

Truetones are always a rip-off.

R13 a track is insane. I thought Musica was off their head extorting R10 per track. Might as well buy CDs and rip them yourself.

No. iTunes uses a seperate format for their DRM. So if you are using iTunes on XP or on OSX, it is the same thing estentially. (as far as DRM is concerned)

Why people think it is a good idea to use .wma is beyond me. A year of market research and they couldn't figure out that iPods won't play .wma straight from a service.

I'm not paying much for an MP3 either. 10c a track maybe. I'd use MP3 to preview music, but I wouldn't buy them at R12 each, even if they were 320k. I'll only spend any significant money on FLAC or something similar.

Exactly - why alienate the largest mp3 player market?

The site design leaves a lot to be desired.
