I am happy with my 2 Nokia 2600's, good for making and getting calls and doing sms's. Top bad the screen is colour, makes it hard to read outdoors in the sun, wish it was black and white...

I cant see whats special about that phone.
Still using my 6210. 
I only need a phone to answer and make calls when I have to.
Most of the time my Cell Phone lays on the desk in my office gathering dust as Cell Phone Calls are way too expensive.
When the cost of a Cell Phone Call becomes cheaper than a Land Line Call, then I may reconsider using my 6210, or dare say "upgrade" the thing, not that I need all the bells and whistles.
I only need a phone to answer and make calls when I have to.

This definately shouldnt be on the front page on "news". I mean really, who cares if nokia have brought out the phone. there arent any features on there that are new or exciting or anything... I think imates are far better than these nokias in any case

Ok, I get it now. Instead of locking you to their network via a number, they'll lock your phone to the network. So you will need to get a new phone most likely with a contract, locking you in for another 2 odd years.

Just called Vodacom Cutomer Care (lol) who in their usual abrupt and rude manner advised that the 6234 will be available when it is available. Probably only next month sometime. The reason is the infamous "network testing", surely a phone that was specifically designed for an network should have been tested during the design phase? A more likely reason is that they are sitting on a pile of 6230i's which cost the same as the 6234. Another example of stellar service. When I mentioned to the operator that I was dissatisfied he asked what was I going to do, MNP is still 2 months away so just wait as long as it takes. Bear in mind my bill is over R1,500 pm.

Eish! Where's this gonna end?? Well, i'm sure vodacom won't have any technical difficulties enabling this phone to work in their environment only. Maybe those techies should see if they can help getting MNP going... LOL

Did Nokia/Vodafone pay someone to put this phone on MyADSL?
Anyone here ever used a Vodafone branded phone? Vodafone puts their own logos all over the phones and makes the UI look horrible. On some phones they even restrict what you can do compared to non-branded phones.
