Broadband consumers offer ICASA help, for Free!

Well, when the big guns throw such wonderfull parties to the top members of ICASA, no wonder...
 
If ICASA spent so long drafting the regulations they recently released, why are they so unclear? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to make sure statements are clear and easy to understand. Especially if they are in your area of expertise. I don't believe there is any excuse for the lack of clarity in the regulations. If you are going to spend that much time drafting them, then at least get the simple things right, otherwise, what are you actually there for?

Absolutely SPOT ON!

I said this before. They took 2 1/2 years to release these regulations. There is absolutely NO excuse for such a shoddy job. ICASA should be absolutely ashamed of themselves.

To me, it sounds rather fishy. They are making it too obvious that they are indeed in bed with Telkom. There is no other excuse for these laughable regulations. Our main issues of concern were price and cap. Neither of which have been dealt with. So, pray tell, what was the point in waiting for 2 1/2 years and all the work that went into the presentations, etc?

I say, OUT with ICASA and in with MyADSL. We will be able to regulate the monopoly in a far more effective way than ICASA has proved they can.

That would be the best thing to ever happen. Let consumer groups run the industry. At least we know that Telkom's adsl is in kilobits/s and not megabits/s. :p Count me in!!!
 
Why stop at ICASA? That is just the tip of the iceberg.
What this country needs is a Consumer Union.

Everyone else has union representatives, why shouldn't consumers?
