Icasa to fund study on channel 65

What about the undersea cable investigation! I would think that is much more important.

Last year ICASA said they would begin the undersea investigation in December 2005 (after many delays) and this year they thought they'll not mention it and hope the new undersea cable plans mean they don't have to do anything about it. Useless bunch of &*@#s.

Wake up ICASA. The prices Telkom is charging us for bandwidth is criminal!

Is it possible for Icasa to fund a study to investigate How to make Icasa to do its work properly? I'm perfectly willing to assist in this study.
 
Well, at least something is happening. Maybe we'll have a third wireless internet provider next year to drive down the cost of the other providers.

Now I'm confused. Are they planning to be another wireless provider instead of a fixed line provider or will it only be for internet services? If that was the case they could have saved a lot of time and money and just license them as a cellular operator. What are they planning to do with the local-loop?

I think we need more info on the subject.

I think to offset reliance on Telkom infrastructure they're hoping to provide telephony via a wireless network. If it saves costs (and they pass this saving on to the consumer), then I'm all for it
