I have a Nokia 6280 which is mostly kept in a good quality leather pouch with a magetic clip...the interesting thing is that everytime I put it in the keypad automatically unlocks and everytime i put it in, or take it out, the screen lights up? What gives? I am not touching any buttons. It does not seem to happen when it put it in/take it out fast? Magnetic field? Friction? Bad/good/indifferent for phone/screen?

you pressed the button
while not pressing the button
but subsconsciously you were pressing the button
so you did press the button
while not actually pressing the button
but it still counts as pressing the button

^ What he said! :D
Very strange. My 6680 is also in a puch with magnets, but nothing to that effect happens

Did NOT press any button...not even close, of that i am 100% sure! Boggles the mind...:)
But what you are saying is for whatever reason this 'magic' happens, it cannot negatively effect the phone (like speaker magnets and old Television tubes?).

I've read this topic on another forum! Odd.
It might have something to do with the magnet, which is "Pushing" the button for you - by changing the electro magnetic field on the circut board. Try a different pouch (maybe one with a clip, instead of a magnet)
