Not sure if this should be posted here or under cellphones:

Has anyone used EQO (www.eqo.com). It is an program what allows intercommunication between instant messenger programs like MSN, Skype etc.

Interesting thing is that you can use your mobile phone to place calls via EQO and your SkypeOut account to normal landline phones. I cannot use it yet as my Nokia N80 is not supported for the Skype feature.

Comments are appreciated.

Morning,

Tried to software on my N70, doesn't work all that well hey.

I found it to be quite unstable, both the Skype client as well as the other msn, aol etc client. When the skype cleint does work, IM chatting works ok but the calling uses skypeOUT credit, pretty much like a call back service where the other person's fone rings and then your fone rings and you talk so there aren't any savings there!

The skype client also needs you to install an app on your PC to work, it interfaces with skype to update your contact list and skypeout balance so if your pc is off or not logged in it doesn't work!

I s'pose thats the best we're gonna get untill skype eventually develops their own Symbian client.

In terms of the other client (the msn) one, what I saw was that it wasn't usefull at all, it would hang pretty often or wouldn't close at all, requiring a power reset. I think it's still early days for this app so perhaps they'll sort out the little nigglies coz it has the potential.

I don't think the current phones will support the Skype feature. I read that Netgear is developing a phone that use skype.

I downloaded the EQO via my phone (their sms notification dont reach me) and also installed the EQO plugin on my PC but on my phone it keeps saying "Connecting...". Have anyone got this to work? It sounds very cool.
