What if Telkom deal fails?

Whatever Telkom wants, Telkom gets and no little Competition Commission, ICASA or court of law is going to stand in their way.
The government refuses to reign in this monster.

btw, more or less when is the CC scheduled to announce that this deal has been approved?

Not entirely: Telkom has lost S100 complaints (under the Telecoms Act) against AT&T and Internet Solutions. ICASA has supported Uninet's Knysna wireless project. etc. You can name quite a few instances where Telkom has not got its way.

Approval of the BXC acquisition by the Competition Commission is by no means a given. The process still has a long way to run and there is definitely a chance that the CC may prohibit the acquisition.

We will see Geoffr.
My hunch though is that the strategic nature of this deal and the impact it will have on the longevity of Telkom as a whole will be the decider, not anything else.
I hope I am wrong but I have little faith anymore.

i guess there is a price hike somewhere soon....
