Well, no network ever charged for the request of GPRS settings, and Cell C did.
You stated that they were the first company who introduced Per second billing. This isn't true, as Vodacom had their 4U Per second packages running long before Cell C even came into the picture. ;)

When I returned from the UK in Oct 2003, I decided to give CellC a try & I was appalled.
1. I waited over 26 minutes (thank goodness for speaker phone mode!) for the call centre to answer my call, someone picked up the phone and put it down in my ear.
2. Their call centre might be in all 11 languages, but when they finally answered my call, I decided to test the language thingie. The woman's Afrikaans was so poor, that I switched back to English.
3. CellC didn't have GPRS back then, so I promptly took out my CellC simcard and bought a MTN card.
I'm sorry - first impressions are lasting.

Actually, It takes Vodacom and MTN a lot longer to bring out new Services. They are only 8 years ahead of Cell C....
Everyone is quick to run Cell C down, but if you compare were VC and MTN were when they were only 5 Yrs old Cell C would be ahead.

I think the point of this thread is that we shouldn't comment on anything we know nothing about. I wouldn't comment on Cell C since i haven't used their services, but no there are some out there who always have something to say about everything. Aagg man. ;)

Man, now you are COMPLETELY talking through your ass!!
*CellC just walked in and started using Vodacom's network straight away - while Vodacom & MTN were running losses for their first years to put up base stations & get things going. Do you know something about BEE? Where have you been?
WHY must I feel sorry for CellC? WHY?
Now you can start crying for your beloved CellC...here's a hanky.

Well, I won't insult anyone, but I like CellC... I have been using them for about a year now and have had no problems so far. I must probably just be lucky.

I'm a CellC contract client that has had the worst service EVER! I waited 5 weeks for my new phone to arrive, (after the sold it to someone else after 3 weeks I've been waiting, plus the 2 weeks after that:mad: ) Then upon receiving my phone call that the phone has arrived, they tell me that its not available on my contract no more and I need to upgrade to Business Chat 400 which is R750 per freaking month!!!! Then I told thme I would rather pay extra and keep my contract the same and keep my freaking number!
TELL SOMEONE THAT!!!!

CC3G, why are you so quite? Have a case of bad WIP LASH?!
Let me guess, CC3G is a sales rep for CellC, appointed to lure some of the white folks back, because, eish!, they sign da big contraks!! (Just what CellC needs a lot of!!)
Now that he has realised how pathetic CellC really is & that he went to work for the wrong company, he is keeping mum.
Eish!
