Neotel plans workforce of 2000

They seem a very realistic entity. I know that proof is in the pudding but so far I like the way they are putting themselves forward!

Neotel currently has a small workforce of only 50 people, but is planning to extend this number to 250 by March 2007.

Our effective competition??? Dont go expecting any big inroads into residential services in '07 on a national front based on these numbers.

What is it with the 2000 workforce maybe one of the fellow forum members can tell us why they always choose 2000

This is about 10% of Telkom.

Visions of lots of fungi being cultured on NeOTel's office walls before consumers have any tangible evidence of there being even a rudimentary telephone service from the former SNOT...

So Neotel hopes to serve 10 to 15% of 10% of 45mil people with 2000 employees. If Neotel will be taking 10 to 15% of Telkom customers, what about the 90% of the South African population that cannot afford telecommunications at all. I think maybe Neotel will be exploiting a little of Telkom customers a little less than Telkom, if they are lucky, under the guize of pseudo competition as the second network operator. I think that one of the conditions upon which their liscence was granted was that they would not shake up the market, at least not at first. This was reinforced with the renting of infrastructure. Competition is not competition if the gloves are not off and as I can see this match is fixed all the way to the bank.
