Telkom CEO pockets R5.6m in 6 months

Telkom paid its chief executive, Leapeetswe Molotsane, R5.6 million in his first six months after stock climbed more than 25 percent.

Molotsane, who replaced Sizwe Nxasana, was paid a base salary of R1.25 million and earned a performance bonus of R3.44 million, according to Telkom's annual report.

Nxasana was paid R6.64 million, including a R3.63 million bonus, base pay of R935 700 and a termination settlement of R1.57 million. He made R3.74 million on the sale of shares when his term ended.

What has the guy done to deserve such a high salary?
 
Convenient how the share price shot up over that particular period before retreating significantly again.

When is Papi's next bonus due?
Considering that the share price now is currently trading at less than it was when he first took the reigns in Sept '05 it might be a safe bet to buy a couple before the next round of incentives.

All just speculation of course.
