Telkom paid its chief executive, Leapeetswe Molotsane, R5.6 million in his first six months after stock climbed more than 25 percent.
Molotsane, who replaced Sizwe Nxasana, was paid a base salary of R1.25 million and earned a performance bonus of R3.44 million, according to Telkom's annual report.
Nxasana was paid R6.64 million, including a R3.63 million bonus, base pay of R935 700 and a termination settlement of R1.57 million. He made R3.74 million on the sale of shares when his term ended.
