I felt embarrassed tonight when I saw the Irish creating open highways through our backline.

Did the Springboks suck or what? :(

Dunno what u expect, when they change the squad that drastically, it can only mean trouble.

They took the key players out of the team for now. So not much was expected anyhow (propably saving them for next year)

Also replace the injured players with players of equil skill. sheesh

I certainly expected a better performance than that.

That was a cowardly performance. No passion or commitment. Gutless! The highways kingrob mentions were caused by the backlines lack of enthusiasm for direct contact in the tackle. They preferred to allow the Irish into the gap and then attempt to tackle from the side.

It was particularly dissapointing for me, being a John Smit supporter, because of the complete lack of leadership or direction and lack of ability to change tactics. WTF was all the kicking in the firsthalf, into a force 10 gale, all about.

What the hell happened to change the cofidence of the first 3 minutes.

There were many headless chickens on that Irish turf yesterday.

Pathetic!

Ah! What the hell. Maybe next time!

In spite of the mess that was yesterdays game, I will once again be the loudest supporter next week.

Havent you guys learnt anything yet... there is only one team to support, and thats the Aussies.

Wasnt the "new" outfits just to celebrate 100 years of the springbok, so all the springboks had to wear the same jerseys that the springboks had in 1906

That is correct, but we were actually hoping for a win in the 100 year jerseys...

Yup things were k*k, and I appreciate (not out of pleasure) the point the Irish commentator made at the end that Jake Whites ideal of a squad system has been proven to be wanting. The entire idea was to be able to win with new players in the team; however we failed, very sad. :(

I still agree with Naas Botha - you take your 'in form' players on tour and the bullsh1t of 'resting the players' must stop.

They are getting paid to play rugby, well, then that is what they should do!

Agreed, we are willing to sacrifice points, a victory or even world rankings with this end of year tour only so that we can get some more players up to speed for the World cup next year. So what happens if we dont win the WC.

I've heard this "we are in a building phase" bull for the last 10 years.

Despite New Zealand not having won the WC in a while you dont see them sacrificing a game or a tour in order to bring in new players. They are always on song, always gunning at full tilt, so if a new player wants in, he has to work for it, not get put in so he can be developed

Anyway...

I think we gonna have a distastrous world cup - let's face it, Jake White's heart is not in it anymore.

I am sorry - but when CJ van der Linde is clearing the ball just off his try line there is huge poo. Kick was alright but should never have happened.

The only forward I saw doing work was Ackerman. Lateral run by Smit doesn't count.

Ireland played well and deserved the win. Can you imagine that bs against NZ - right now they'll take 100 plus off us.

Yes and almost get beaten by Italy  . You must have been very proud. Drawing to Wales. Heaven help them if they play a team like France or Ireland.

Our centres were carved up like roast lamb on Xmas. Either Jean would rush up to quickly and leave a gap or Habana would. I still do not think just because Habana knew the defensive pattern better than Pretorius that he should have played centre. I think it would have been a different game if he was on the wing and Pretorius was at centre with Jean.

Kudos though to Frans Steyn, he played really well on his debut and its unfortunate his debut was a loss.

Also Ricky should never see green and gold again. He was pretty useless and took forever to get to the breakdown point. Ruan Pienaar is much better imho. Although he also didnt do so well at times.

Our forwards were pushed off the ball, and pushed back in tackles, if any of our players actually tackled at all. Our ball was slow, hence Jakes opinion that the only fetchers he knows are his two boys that fetch him beer, so we dont have any recognised fetchers in the team. Also why we gave away so many turn-overs.

It was a lack-lustre performance.

But yes once again i will be shouting my lungs out on Sat against the Poms.

Its not about 1 or 2 games....

Kiwis tend to win the tri-nations, they can have that title. Aussies do well at the world cup, and this is when it matters most.

the irish are allowed to play well.....its just south africa isn't really used to losing to them. the irish team have really improved.

still think the boks will pull through when it matters most.

the kiwi's are going to choke in the worldcup again and sa are going to be left having to beat the aussies in the final.

thats my 2c
