Take alook at this deal available in the UK

My mother gets a new phone (generally she opts for a 9300 or 9500) every year. I've got a box full of old ones as a testament to just how much better off she is wrt that.

i got one of these

for my wife this weekend..it was on offer at shop (pharmacy) something like, buy things worth £5 in this store, and put £10 credit on the sim and you get the phone+sim free.(this is a pay as you go deal, no contract, although the phone only works on the 3g network here)

so we did, we bought around £8 worth of goodies, put £10 on the sim (so far on £18 ja?)

went to the till, the till did some sort of rebate thing and promptly said "£8.66 please"

so we paid them £8.66, as instructed.

i'm still confused, but i think we got the phone + £10 credit free because santa liked my face. not a bad little phone, camera etc..just no bluetooth.

p.s. they did want my name and address when we got to the till, so I told them my name, and even helped them spell it (Piet Pompies).
lol. wtf.

@werner - whats the phone? I get an error page - most likely because of the sessions and the https.

p.s. it was boots pharmacy where i picked it up.

@werner
The F866 is a basic 3G phone aimed at the prepay market, available on the Hutchison 3 network.
Isn't Hutchison responsible for Orange too? Is this '3' part of that or a separate entity?

EDIT - ok - I see Orange is owned by France Télécom - I'm sure this wasnt always the case though.
