Edge on Motorola V360 and Cell C

I have a Motorola V360. When I put a MTN simcard into the phone it connects to their Edge technology. When I put a Cell C simcard into the same phone - it doesn't use Edge, but uses GPRS. I have spoken to the tech guys at Cell C about it - but they are unable to give me a satisfactory reason.
I am in the centre of Durban - so there should be Cell C edge connection. Anyone got any ideas?
 
V360 using Mobile PhoneTools app

Dudes and Dudettes,

I am able to surf using my V360... signal seems OK. In the past I have also been using the V360 as modem connected to my laptop for several weeks without any problems. But about 2 weeks ago I started running into connection problems using my laptop and IE6. The mobile PhoneTools app. I use picks up the phone and reports a GPRS signal (as usual), and reports back that I am "connected" (as usual). But then IE6 is seemingly unable to connect... as no data is coming through.

Any ideas anyone?

V360 user here as well! Lovely phone, actually prefer it to my Nokia 6680. Problem is not with the phone....problem is with VM /CC check out my Does Edge Really Exist post.....

Looks like its MTN for me for a while until VM sort out the data speed and connection problems. Using it the V360 now on MTN Edge and the speeds are great...(Dont think that the prob is with IE6 either)

Hope you guys come right.

Found the problem...

I found the problem... Its not VM, but rather my stupidity! I discovered that Win XP's Windows Firewall Exceptions tab settings were updated to exclude IE. Cheeeze...cant believe I have missed that ... &%$@!!

I reckon the change must have happened when I installed AVG Free edition recently (i.e. anti-virus software).

Yes, I agree, the V360 is lovely phone.
