Cannot send or receive MMS's on VC since yesterday afternoon - who's going to phone the help desk - any offers?? :)

@V3G - Never mind!!!! Sorted. Someone changed my damned AP. Fixed again!! (bloody kids %$#$%$#)

Can you send an MMS from Vodacom to MTN?

A friend of mine has recently moved over to MTN (not port) and now I cannot MMS him, he receives from other MTN peeps, and I receive his MMSs.

When I send him an MMS he receives a "blank" MMS, from unknown recipient.

Suggestions?

Should work, maybe call 155 and let them check your settings.

Can you send MMS to other Vodacom subs?

Yeah, I can, I just remembered setting my phone MMS creation mode to "free", have changed it back to "restricted" and tried again.

He still gets the dead MMS.

Wonder if it is a specific combination of transmit / receive handsets? Which models are involved here?

What happens if you put your SIM in another handset type/model and send the MMS again?

Hmmm... As I know you're on the ball with this stuff, I refrained from asking what changed on your side....:p

Glad you got it sorted!

Yup, you right - I am however getting the previous 'small' MMS again after upgrading the N70 via the Nokia site - it loaded the generic Nokia firmware. I have, however, decided to use the N70 on my MTN contract and get either an N71 or N73 which is not Vlive branded (hence no incompatibilities between the generic Nokia firmware and the Vodafone firmware.

I'm sending from a Nokia N70, receiving on a Nokia 6230i

I called 155, there is no option for anything relating to Messaging, and pressing 0 (normally for operator) repeated the menu options.

I requested OTA data settings via *111#, tried again, this time nothing went through at all - not even a blank MMS!

I'll give 111 a call.

Unless it's on MTN's side... starting to look more and more like it.

The customer services and Data helpdesk are dropping my calls when requesting operator - wEiRd

Edit: asked my wife to send an MMS to the same MTN number - she's got same N70 on VC. - will reply once I know result.
Edit: asked a friend to send an MMS to the same MTN number - he's got N80 on VC. - will reply once I know result.

MMS from Virgin to Vodacom are also problematic. Last ones I sent took close to 5 hours to get there. Is there a communications problem between neworks perhaps?

Not your settings then wEiRd indeed :|

Must be the individual MTN cell with the issues.

Wife's MMS: Pending
Friends MMS: Pending
Friends MMS to another MTN: Delivered and Correctly Sent.

Hi!

I'm experiencing the same problem as Carudden. I'm on MTN, and I receive blank mms's from friends on Vodacom. We're all using Nokia N-series phones. I can receive mms's from MTN phones, so my mms settings seem to be fine.
