ok, now i wanna buy world of warcraft, i have an adsl 384 kb/s, with a 3GB cap,(Telkom) wat i need to know is: How much cap does WOW use per minute or hour,and do u think it's worth it? just so i know whether to buy it or not... and i am not gonna change to isdn or leave telkom,
please some1 help

i'm sorry for posting another WOW forum but i have searched everywhere and i'm fed up,,, thnx guys cheers

It does not use a lot of bandwidth. I use to play it over 3G with an estimate of about 10-12Mb / hour. (May even be a bit less)
 
It maybe would be better to put this in the World of Warcraft Subforum....

I have no idea but 10-12 does sound right from what I have seen around.

so are u guys positive that WOW only uses 10 - 12 megs an hour ???
 
Sometimes less than 12 megs, I suppose 5/hour if u not in a busy area
 
Okay I can confirm this. If I play in the week and it's very quiet, I use about 8-12Mb per hour. But when i play over the weekend when it's usually alot busier, it could be anywhere upto 20Mb per hour.
 
On average, WoW by itself uses about 10mb on hour. This can go up though depending what your doing, but if your just starting WoW, you won't need to worry about that. 3 months +- from now though, you'll start raiding with guilds and need to be on teamspeak, then usage starts going up a bit.
 
I play on 3G also, works just fine and gives me about 600 to 800 latency and never more than 20Mb/hour
 
On some weekends a play like th whole day and it only used like 50 - 60 mb. :)

So got a pre-paid unshaped account so when i play i will buy like 1 GB.
 
scofield? Do you know anyone who has the game already? I'd get a copy of that folder and sign up for a 10 day trial before you take the dive. Bandwidth use is minimal < 50MB
 
I use Iburst have a 3g capped with 600-800 ping, i play ....alot in a high end raiding guild we raid 3 nights aweek and on weekends with work and play i have never gone over 2gig. Guess i should work more ;)

PS Still looking for US TBC files if anyone in JHB has them ill travel - my guild is already 40% to 70 eesh
