Hi folks
So contract renewal coming up and trying to chose between SE p990i, Nokia E70 and HTC Tytn. Well, besides trying to chose technically between the handsets, I am intrigued at the pricing on a procall 120 or 220 contract:
1) P990 - retail R5350 (cacell), pay-in R599, appoximate handset value bundled with contract R4751
2) Tytn retail R7899 (pcmall), pay-in R2299, bundled value R5600
3) E70 - retail R3750 (cacell), pay-in R499, bundled value R3251
Surely the E70 should be free plus they should be throwing in a gift or contract discount or something?
The difference in bundled value between the nokia and the htc is over R2000!
Do the manufacturers really have so much latitude to discount so variably or is this the carrier trying to work out where they can extract a premium on certain handsets?
