Looking to Purchase TREKSTOR Hard Drive

Hey Richard, I won't be good at saying they suck, but I would highly recommend a Seagate harddrive. If you want an external harddrive, the Maxtor harddrives are an extremely good buy, at a competitive price. Maxtor is owned by Seagate.

Shop around, take your time. My real recommendation would be if you buy a new Seagate harddrive with 16mb cache, they are blazingly fast. ;)
 
To be honest, I've never heard of Trekstor, but R800 for a 400GB harddrive is pretty cheap, google some reviews and see how it performs ;)

I have never heard of them either. That price is WAY low. They gonna deliver it to you as well? Does that cost extra??
 
I've been using a Trekstor drive now for some time without any problems. It runs simultaneously with several Linux and Windows users wihout a hitch.
However, the price of R800 seems unreal - I paid R1500 on a special for the 400GB model.
 
I just bought a TrekStor 2.5" 250GB drive from Makro today for R1700 (usual price is R1800 but just ask for a lower price). So far so good, build quality seems good too. I'm not sure about their 3.5" drives, but I needed something portable without the need to supply external power so I went for the 2.5".

I have had a 2.5" 80 gig for longer than a year now - this thing works like a charm... carry it around all the time - never had any hassles with it - works fine on Win & OS X. I would recommend them.
