I've been really into the Chilled out genre of music lately, I've been listening to the new Just Jinger album over and over, some Josh Groban, Gregorian and Enya.

I'd like to keep this trend for a month or two, as my metal ears need a rest.

What would you recommend I get?

Here a few to try

Air - Virgin Suicides or Talkie Walkie
Aswad - A new Chapter of Dub
CCR - At The Movies
Ian Brown - Music of the Spheres
Massive Attack - Mezzanine or Protection or 100th Window
Satan and Adam - Mother Mojo
Various Artists (A tribute To Leonard Cohen) - I'm Your Fan
Frank Black - Frank Black (1993)
Lamb - Lamb or A fear of Fours

Will give it a shot, although I have never heard of any of those bands, am I outdated or is the music? LOL! :D ;)

Allan Parsons Project..... some stunning stuff if you can get your mitts on it. Also, if you DL, look out for "Hearts of Space", oh, and Vangelis....

@teraside: Sorry for going OT, but I've also recently been listening to the new Just Jinjer album. I bought the CD the other day. Problem is Windows Media Player detects it as some Josh Groban CD. Does Windows Media Player identify your CD correctly (assuming you have the CD)? I'm not too bothered about this because I use Winamp anyway. I was just wondering if your CD gets detected correctly or not. Thanks

Hey Athlon, bro I really like your nickname ;)

I'm sorry I don't have the cd, I bought the last JJ cd before the latest one, I've got the mp3's, but I still have to buy the cd. Winamp rocks anyways bro, so don't worry about it :p

Much love!

The Best classical album in the world... Ever! :D

It's what I always listen to when I need something soothing to my ears :)

Edit: Some classical songs on there are a bit hyper, I recommend you skip those... but most are good

I've got the best opera album in the world or something, just have to find it, but nah, I can't go that chilled out yet ;)

Simon and Garfunkel has always been a winner when it comes to chilling for me.

LOL! Old Joshy can be a bit depressive, but I love that song "you are loved" lalallala!

Seconded - though a lot of the Alan Parsons stuff is reasonably hard rock.

I'd suggest some Mike Oldfield - albums like Tubular Bells or Incantations.

Cafe Del Mar Series does rule!! There is a cool lounge collection out there somewhere with about 16 albums in the series all a different genre of lounge like Africa, Latino, Blue, White etc. Very Chilled! When I need to relax I often throw on Kid A or Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Murder Ballads. Blur - Think Tank is also pretty chilled and I dunno why but alot of The Clash albums chill me out and put me in a fun mood.

Peace :)

There's this 'intelligent' radio station on the internet, you give it the name of a song you like, and it finds similar songs based on the genre of music, tempo, instruments, etc. It was incredibly well designed and fluid too!

I've forgotten the bloody name of it tho.
